About the Fitchburg Community Connections Coalition

The Fitchburg Community Connections Coalition is a part of a network of twenty-two coalitions across the state whose goal is to strengthen and increase neighborhood based activities that: empower residents, build partnerships, strengthen families, and protect children. The Fitchburg Community Connections Coalition receives funding from the Massachusetts Department of Social Services.

The FCCC supports the work of DSS by coordinating resources already in the community, involving residents in planning for local resources and by ensuring that services meet the needs of children and families living in Fitchburg.
The FCCC has operated in the  community for ten years and has a 501(c)(3) status through its fiscal partner the Montachusett Opportunity Council, Inc.
The Coalition partners with community leaders and organizations to focus on the prevention-based strategic actions that build community support for children, youth and families throughout the city of Fitchburg.

In the early 1990’s the commissioner of the Department of Social Services acknowledged the FCCC as being one of the leading coalitions in the state.
