About the Fitchburg Community Connections Coalition
The Fitchburg Community Connection Coalition supports the work of the Department of Children and Families by coordinating resources already in the community, involving residents in planning for local resources and by ensuring that services meet the needs of children and families living in Fitchburg.
The Primary Mission of the Community Coalition is to facilitate the organization of comprehensive family support systems in neighborhoods throughout the commonwealth to prevent child abuse and neglect.
The FCCC has operated in the community for fourteen years and has a 501(c)(3) status through its fiscal partner the Montachusett Opportunity Council, Inc.
The Coalition partners with community leaders and organizations to focus on the prevention-based strategic actions that build community support for children, youth and families throughout the city of Fitchburg.
In the early 1990s the commissioner of the Department of Social Services acknowledged the FCCC as being one of the leading coalitions in the state.
